Minithon 2014

Archbishop Wood's first MiniTHON was a huge success. The dance marathon lasted for 7 hours with everyone up on their feet. Many activities were  held throughout the night to keep every dancer active and having fun!

Events of the night included:

  • Apple stacking-which is much harder than it looks

  • Finding the stick of gum at the bottom of a big pile of whipped cream

  • Junk in The Trunk, where the students had to shake five ping pong balls out of a tissue box strapped to their backs

  • Five-on-Five Basketball Games: Seniors vs. Juniors and Sophmores vs. Freshmen

  • Lip-Synching/Dance Competition

  • Face painting

  • The Robotics team shot Tshirts into the crowd of dancers using their robot.

At the end of the night everyone was exhausted but excited to hear about the grand total. Parents, staff, faculty, students, and sponsors worked together to raise a total of $41,000. It was truly a community effort!

Lots of things went on throughout the night to make sure everyone was having fun!

We even had a special appearance by Beyonce and her backup dancers during the Lip Synching Competition.
